The Great Glen Way runs along the Caledonia Canal for part of its route. We crossed at the Moy Farm bridge. The bridge master told us it wasn't for public use but he'd let us across just this once. We walked south along the canal and I did a little painting. We took a shortcut back. We walked down an embankment, over a farm gate, through a slightly flooded stone tunnel that runs under the canal, only to find we needed to cross yet another creek. Jon carried me across! Artist Jan Norsetter is an award-winning oil painter known for vibrant landscape paintings en plein air and evocatively detailed studies in still life. Norsetter paints en plein air (painting in the open air) to imbue her paintings with a sense of place. She works outdoors in every season, painting close to home and on travels to the western United States and overseas to Italy, Ireland, Scotland and Norway.
